Kitchen Pantry
Storage
Kitchen pantries are
not just about shelves. Think outside of the box
(or grab that box) and head for some unusual and
immensely practical pantry storage solutions.
Furniture
(or pantry furniture) can be new, antique or reborn
furniture given new life as pantry storage. Bedroom
dressers, a unique piece from a flea market can add an
attractive decorative accent to the kitchen room.
The explosion in closet
organization merchandise has crossed over to
the pantry organizer market. The ability to deck
out pantry closets with customizable "clip-to-fit"
shelving has everyone joining the closet makeover craze.
It doesn't stop there. Those over-the-door
shoe bags are perfect for items like seasoning pouches,
coupons, and water bottles. Snack chip and cereal
bags are best-suited to baskets, as are produce in the
pantry. Belt and jewelry hangers can group
together some of your smaller pantry food items.
Kitchen cabinet manufacturer's
have broken out of the standard mold, offering clever
pantry storage solutions, such as specialty racks to fit
certain food products, like baking and spices. Not
only that, they are now eyeing the pantry room itself as
the next mini-kitchen. Their flashy kitchen pantry
displays are boasting cabinetry inside walk-in pantries.
It is usually a mix of traditional cabinets, open
shelving and pull-out cabinet drawers. This trend
may be related to historic butler's pantries, that were
very much a side room for kitchen activities that did
contain cabinets.
One-of-a kind pantry solutions
are still an economic way to provide pantry space to a
kitchen. This may be antiques, charming wicker
baskets, or whimsical art doubling as keepers of the
pantry.
